Premium iPad mini Quilted Leather Zipper Carry Case

If you are lucky, you might be getting your iPad mini in Singapore this Friday. Unfortunately, I was among the unlucky ones. I'm not sure how many people in Singapore managed to pre-order and get it shipped by this Friday, November 2nd. I pre-ordered mine but I expect it to arrive probably next week, before November 9th.

If you happen to have ordered or thinking of ordering or still deciding to buy, it's always good to take a look at some of the initial iPad mini casing available out there. This is to get a head up on what to expect, particularly in terms of maintaining your iPad mini. To maintain a device of such beauty, it's going to cost you some money, that's for sure. But just how much do you need to set aside? For ladies, here is a quilted leather case that has started selling in Amazon. I'm not saying guys should not consider it, but I think more ladies would love to wrap their iPad mini with this casing. Currently, the iPad mini version of this case is available in 2 different colors: Black and Hot Pink. It's selling for US$19.95 in Amazon.

iPad mini: What you need to know before buying

This morning (Singapore Time), Apple has just launched an avalanche of products. The biggest prize of the day is definitely the announcement of the long touted and long anticipated junior addition to the iPad family, that is none other than iPad mini. Despite the rampant leakage and rumors of iPad mini that has been swirling around for few months now, the unveiling of iPad mini certainly brought delights to millions of Apple fans around the world.

Unlike other tech makers out there, Apple is once again showing their operation and supply chain mastery. No other gadget makers out there have ever followed Apple's footstep quite closely. A device is unveiled today, pre-order starts days later and bingo! It reaches the consumers' hand less than 10 days later. Here, we are not talking about few thousand units, but millions of them sold at launch day.

This time round, decision to buy or not to buy an iPad mini is not a straight-forward one. Unlike iPhone where you know for certain that there is only going to be a single new model, today Apple has announced their 4th generation iPad in tandem with iPad mini. It might be confusing to some, but it is pretty straight-forward actually. First, if you have been holding back your decision to get an iPad, this is definitely the time to buy. Entry-level iPad mini starts with 16GB storage and WiFi-only. It is priced at SGD448. A decent price if you compared to unbelievably crappy Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet that Samsung has recently launched. But if you are a current iPad 2 owner, then it is advisable to hold your purse a little while. If there is anything we learn from today's press event, Apple has embarked on the fast lane. We saw the new (not so new) iPad launched in March this year and only to be replaced with more powerful iPad merely 6 months later. I expect them to continue at this pace. While I love the latest iPad with its Retina display, there is really not much else that I see as being superior to the iPad 2. Wait for another 6 months and you'll definitely get a slimmer and more power iPad.

iPad mini Release Date Singapore is Official! Pre-Order Oct 26 to Get it on Nov 2

The existence of an iPad that is smaller than the current 10" version has long been debated, articulated and rejected since the first generation of iPad was launched. Back then, the idea was believed to be flat out rejected by Steve Jobs.

Now we are one year after Steve Jobs departure. Many things have changed since the magical iPad was first introduced. The market dynamics are entirely different now. It has now been 2.5 years since Apple ventured into an undefined and uncharted territory of tablet computing. Today, we have just heard from Tim Cook and company that over 100,000,000 units of iPad have been sold. That was truly an amazing feat. An accomplishment so great that even Apple themselves would not be able to repeat it, not mentioning all other device makers out there.

Today, Apple fans around the globe are jumping with joy. As Tim Cook put it, there have been a flurry of tablet alternatives being launched over the past year alone. Yet, no genuine consumers have set their sight on those tablets other than the iPad. According to Cook, the reason is simple, consumers simply love the iPad.

Affection for the iPad is not a phenomenon that applies only to Apple fans. From our children to our grandparents. From techie to laymen. Everyone would agree what a joy iPad experience is and what a crap all the other tablet alternatives that have emerged is. While hundred of millions of people have bought the iPad, there are certainly hundreds more millions out there who have been putting iPad as their top wish list, but simply hold back by the high price tag.

With the availability of iPad mini, things are about to change. I believe given its lower starting place, iPad mini is in prime position to be Apple's next blockbuster device. In Singapore, pre-order for iPad mini is just days away. It will be this Friday, October 26. It happens to be a holiday here in Singapore. So, if you badly want to get hold of the mini by its launch date (November 2), you may want to stay up a little longer to make sure that you are among the first to submit your pre-order. Remember that iPhone 5 has recently broken its weekend sales record. If you do a check with any of the local telco in Singapore, there is a good chance that they would not have stock anymore.

Remember the date! Friday, October 26 to Pre-Order and the iPad mini will be launched in Singapore on November 2.
